I dont want to be a spammer, but im just here to say thanks for this new update Oleg.
- About this particular version im having a very good feedback from it. specially from P2P connections, thanks to this firmware now i can download from P2P and navigate with my browser withoud having lag at all.
- The new webpage "services" ( web interface ) it's a very usefull freature.
24h has passed with the firmware and i dont detect any problem at all.
Using WL500g - firmware 1.9.2.7-7e [from Oleg's]
My original config:Originally Posted by Oleg
- root file in /etc/crontabs
- command line: crond -c /etc/crontabs -b
Launched crond -f : error /var/spool/cron/crontabs doesn't exist, so i created the directory and moved my root file (in /etc/crontabs)
Then launched crond -f without error message.
But still the same problem, i see an entry on my syslogd server like this:
But nothing has happenedCode:2006-01-08 10:00:00 Cron.Notice belkin crond[659]: USER root pid 707 cmd root /usr/local/sbin/run-parts /etc/cron.hourly

post your crontabs. Looks like you've to delete user specification (root) from crontab. Check contents carefully.Originally Posted by cu112
why rolled back to old busybox?
1.1.0-pre1 is too buggy. Already had problems with httpd, tar. Perhaps other things too.Originally Posted by OlegI
oleg thanx for the great work again.

Here is the content of my crontabs/root file:Originally Posted by Oleg
I'll remove the root entry and try that.Code:01 * * * * root /usr/local/sbin/run-parts /etc/cron.hourly

This is needed for wl-hdd. In fact it's not the real power off, just a turning off some LEDs and saying standby to HDD.Originally Posted by alien433
That did the trick ! Thanks Oleg !Originally Posted by Oleg

First of all : great thanks to Oleg for his very good work ! Why doesn't Asus hire you?
Ok here is my experience with the last firmware :
- Quick Setup stays in an endless loop, not very annoying for me.
- I have installed a WL500 on my Girlsfriend's network. This has been updated with the latest Oleg firmware. What happens is that it is very slow in responding when accesed from wan, this goes for webcam, webserver (accessing the routers config), ftp....
Using my router at home i have the same problem. My router is still using 1.9.2.7-6b and using the "80 Wan access bug" the router is responding very fast.
The odd thing is that pings are good....
The same goes for my IIS server running behind the router, it is damn slow....
Am i doing something wrong?
PS : i have set "Number of connection to track" on 16384 on both routers.....
PS2 : Setting it up to its default value did not help....

Asus WL500g #1 with fw 1.9.2.7-7f running as main home gateway, with Philipps PWC730k
Asus WL500g #2 with fw 1.9.2.7-7f running as Wireless Client, running palantir 2.6 with SPCA5xx camera on 128MB generic USB key
usb storage in new version seems not working
i've tryed manual load the mod for usb storage and i get:
Using usb-storage.o
insmod: unresolved symbol scsi_unregister_module
insmod: unresolved symbol scsi_register
insmod: unresolved symbol scsi_register_module
You've to load other modules too.
Code:usb-storage 62184 2 sd_mod 13292 4 scsi_mod 70216 2 [usb-storage sd_mod]
