    Wow.

Now this is what I call a real router, designed with a degree of future proofing. Most manufacturers are still busy churning out variations of the same old theme, whereas many people's requirements are fast becoming more demanding.

If any ASUS staff read this, please keep up the good work! I am looking forward to someone porting Tomato over to this router.

Asus didn't mentioned any price or release date... so nobody knows, only asus

I expect them to release it after the summer holiday, and before new-year, sounds like an obvious time to bring out a new product

BCM4718 has only 2 USB ports

Says on the Broadcom spec sheet the BCM4718 only has 2 USB ports.

Unless there's another USB hub, they will be connected to the 2 external sockets.
(so no internal HDD etc. without sacrificing a port, or putting in your own hub circuitry)

if I remember correctly, the wl500w and wl500gp also have 2 usb ports...
but it's connected to another chip which makes 4 available. A commonly used VIA chip

Simultaneous dual-band operation provides data rates of up to 300 Mbps in both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands
Worldwide DFS certification to provide 27 channels in the 5 GHz band.

Weird some info that's not a dual band router, cause the chipset supports it and its exactly the same used on WRT6XX thats officially a 'dual band'.

But its confirmed it only works at 2.4GHZ.

yeh, that's what I tought... but asus seems to think different about it
maybe they don't have an option in the firmware... and someone can unlock it

if it does support dual band, then asus has the entire picture right imo
