Bekijk de volledige versie : WL-HDD new partitions and format- HOW??
hi guys..
i f*cked up my wl-hdd... I first installed olegs firmware but that didnt worked so now there is the original firmware of asus back latest on the web.
But now the harddisk has no partitions anymore and i cant make new one. Can someone tell me how i can make 1 partition. the original toshiba 40 gb harddisk is in place.
thanks
nobody knows how i can mount and format and repartition the harddisk?
in the login page it says that the harddisk is unmounted but i cant connect with putty to mount it refuses the connection:(
If you're using the orignal firmware you should be able to sort your hard disk from the web interface. It's ages since I've used that so I can't be more specific. I'm sure the manual you got with it will tell you.
The other thing you could do it stick your HD in a laptop (or get a 2.5 caddy so you could plug it in via USB), use a bootable linux disc and sort it out that way. It's complicated but will work and may be the only option if you can't do anything through the WL-HDD.

the original firmware doesnt support this i tried it but it wont work. i tried the custom oleg firmware but that one ruined the entire shit so i dont wanna use that again.... or if someone tell's me something else?
The orginal firmware does support this, as there has to be a way to partition and format disks straight from the box.
I found my original manual and on page 8 it tells you to go to Disk Tool -> Storage Settings, where you can specify partition sizes and then press Apply to format.
Have you actually tried this and in what way doesn't it work?
Olegs firmware is only worth using if you want to customise what your WL-HDD does and your happy with using Un*x commands to do it. The reason it doesn't support the internal hard disk from the web interface is because it was done for the WL500g which doesn't have an internal disk.
