I've just recently found this site and got interested in Oleg's fimware. My goal would be installing Mythtv backend on an external drive with a hauppauge PVR-USB2. I've already found this: www.northern.ca/projects/mythslug/ which is a mythtv package for a similiar project called NSLU2. So my question is that it is possible to have this compiled under the Oleg's stuff.
I doubt it would be very usable. I installed MythTV on a 800MHz, 512MB Ram Box with a ATI 64MB Video Card, and it was pretty slow. So I guess it would really creep on the asus.
Was it a backend installation or you used it as a frontend? I don't think streaming MPEG2 from USB to the ethernet ports is a difficult task. I mean the NSLU2 has a 266MHz processor (overclocked) and can do it. Why Asus cannot?
