Had the same problem with a 500g power supply a certain time ago. Now i use an old fashioned regulated (non switching) PS and it works fine.

If i remember well, Oleg has pointed out several times that the PS is probably not really up to it, especially with other (USB) devices connected. I personally think that Asus went too far in making a small and compact device.
