Question ipod fileserver via usb possible?

    hey,

can you imagine connecting an ipod via usb2.0 cable to the 500g?

the ipod's got a disk/firewire mode acting as a hdd drive (actually there's a toshiba hdd inside...) and is fat32 formatted (only in windows mode), so it should work....

    any reasons against this assumption?

i'm quite doubtful since I unsuccessfully tried to connect a sony digital camera with memory stick reader via usb.
any clues if the connection procedure is logged somewhere and why it connects to some memory stick readers (as described in the RCH section) and to some it doesnt?
the system log on the webinterface doesnt show anything, does the new 1.7.5.6 customized firmware by oleg display more verbose outputs?

    cheers, thomas.

Some of the readers are supported in linux, some not. Try to execute dmesg after unsuccessful attempt. You can do that using the official firmware using the Main_AdmStatus_Content.asp
