    wl500gx release - End of november 2004[Holland]

I am very interested in buying a wl500gx router.

The wl500g seems to be a very good product, but I think usb 2.0 will be a real imrpovement in order to share an hard drive on lan.

I have already read all the posts which told about the wl500gx (specs ...) on the forum, but I do not find any date of release.

Is there anyone who have an idea of the wait ?

    one week
    one month
    one year

    thanks

there is no known release date

it should have been out by now as it has already been anounced by asus at their retailer books

I still haven't received any comment on this from Asus.

I got an official answer from an ASUS Customer Representative on another forum whom I asked about the WL-500gx:

    Dear Flynn,

Thank you for your message. Regarding to your message, the WL-500GX will be announced to the market by next month. So, you can check it out with ASUS at Germany branch office by next month and then you will get more information on that. Thank you.
I will get this one, too, and then will probably become a more active member here.
    greetings,

    Flynn

    Hi!
    Try running
    Code:
    cat /proc/meminfo
    cat /proc/cpuinfo
    dmesg
    cat /proc/kmsg
    from the hidden admin page.
Also, do you've firmware sources on the CD? if so, which version does it have?

    Hi Oleg,

The firmware on CD is 1.8.1.9 only (if \GPL\GPL_1.8.1.9.tar.gz is the firmware) but on the firmware update page, it shows 1.8.2.0 (I suppose this is the running firmware version ?!)

    Cat result:

ok, if you've telnet, you probably has full busybox there - type
    Code:
    /tmp/harddisk/busybox dmesg
    Also, please type
    Code:
    cat /proc/pci
    Edit: Sorry, I mean /proc/pci, not /proc/bus/pci

Well, the boxset is light (may be less than 1 kg?) but shipping products with encryption technology may have some concern?

But I feel wired that the adaptor I got is printed for Europe and English menu, not Asia/Taiwan style. May be it is shipping from Holland?

This is what i get ;)

I know this topic is about Holland, but forum policy requires posts in English, please stick to this policy...
