    OpenWrt

    Hi,

there's a project for the Linksys WRT54G named OpenWrt.
I'm just going to buy an Asus WL-500G, and port OpenWrt for that, too.
If someone could send me the dmesg (cat /proc/kmsg) of the Asus until I receive mine, it would be really helpful.

    Thank You,
    Imre Kaloz

maybe. but without a _really_ customized firmware, You can'get everything, what this little box cn do for You. The USB is a very nice feature, thatswhy I want to get OpenWrt work on it. A dmesg or /proc/kmsg output would tell us, what the difference really, I mean the ethernet/wireless driver, etc.

The kernel supports QoS, and Yes, there is a 'tc' package. So You can do everything You want
I will add all the asus features (printing, etc) as packages to OpenWRT as well.

Hm... In my opinion printing stuff requires more work than just compiling... Regular packages require spool directory for things to work...

Everyone can build itself.. The only fixup it really needs is to disable the resetmon check. BTW, there are no .ipk files to support printing or anything other, yet.
