    4) plug out & plug in to reboot
    5) restore bouton => reboot

    Have you tried the 'firmware restoration tool' which is supplied on the original asus cd, shipped with your router?

    After a hard reset of the modem this tool assums your computers ip is 192.168.1.10 and that of your asus is 192.168.1.1
    You can select a firmware to upload to your asus.

    I once had a comparable situation (only not after migrating from dd-wrt) when I was not able to login onto the asus... I used the firmware restoration tool and it worked.

    Hope this helps...
    (I don't know if this applies to you, but there is a pin 9 trick, search this board)

    yes I did the pin9 trick when suddenly dd-wrt did not want to work anymore....

    After that I tried both with the Asus restoration tool and as well with tftp but none worked..all the time I put oleg firmware I cant login and the router shows as dd-wrt....putting back dd-wrt works...

    any suggestions please...I did research whole day and tried all sorts and bits but seems nothing is working and I hate this dd-wrt since its very unstable on the wl500gp
