If you find that it does not help you either you should put your findings there.
My Asus is still running on GMT.
I've installed the tz package - is there anyway to get the system and commands to actually use these files?
I do have a /etc/TZ file, and it's setting is GMT0BST
I'm running 1.9.2.7-7f

I did a search - the link you refer to doesn't solve the problem.
Using a TZ settting of "GMT0BST,M3.5.0/2,M10.5.0/3" would work, but there is nothing to say how I get this set. I have tried "nvram set timezone=.." and setting the value in /etc/TZ, but on reboot these both get reset to GMT0BST.
And it doesn't indicate how I can use the timezone files from the tz package to set it to GB-Eire or Europe/London.
So, how do I set things do that the correct timezone applies on a reboot?
do you save nvram after the change??
