    Memory exchange on WL-500g

Does somebody knows the chances of getting a memory upgrade if I exchange the K4S641632H-TC(L)60 (4Mbx16) of my WL-500g by the K4S281632F-TC(L)60/75 (8Mbx16)?

    Here you go the specs:

    (4Mbx16)
    (8Mbx16)

Possibly, if you can connect the extra line for addressing (A8). If you can get the schematic and/or trace the signal you can do abetter assesment..

On the GX it is possible.

    You are right but...

You are completely right! Without A8 there is no way of addressing the extra 16Mb.

I can see all copper paths for the memory rows are available on the main-board so I wonder if they are enabled and if the BCM4702 is able to address them (A0-A8) to get the 32Mb.

I think of it is a matter of trying but I would like to have some more info.

For the Gx the schematic is in the CE&FCC reports. I don't know if those reports are available for the 500g.

On the Gx the extra line has to be connected by two jumpers(one to each chip).

As for the sdram_init settings you can refer to this page: http://wl500g.dyndns.org/sdram.html
