    Hi,

You need to use telnet to format the disk as there is no option from Olegs firmware.

    Have a look at http://www.sprayfly.com/wiki/Filesystem
for full details as it can be a bit involved depending on how you've already got it set up.

If you have any questions before you format, post them here.

    Cheers

    Ade

    thank you for the replay..

i have done all things that are mentioned in the wiki but at the end i have a error message while i was trying to mount my new formatet HDD

mount: Mounting /dev/discs/disc0/part1 on /opt failed: Invalid argument

    swapon /dev/discs/disc0/part2
this did not show any errormessages

    thanks you for any ideas

i just see that someone else in another thread has the same problem than i have..

    i hope its not a firmwarebug :-(

I must admit that I am using an older firmware version (1.9.2.7-6b).

Check the following via a telnet login :-

    1) ls -l /
This should show all directories in the root and opt should be there.
Try "cd /" and "mkdir opt" if opt is not there.
    2) df
This should show if the disc is mounted to somewhere else.
Try "umount <mount directory> to unmount the disc.

If you have a /opt and the disc is not mounted elsewhere then "mount /dev/discs/disc0/part1 /opt" should work.

If you can't mount it manually, then trying older firmwares might be your only workaround.

Anybody else have any ideas or have got the disk mounted to /opt with the latest firmware?

    mount /dev/discs/disc0/part1 /opt

    [AVM701@AsusWlanHDD /opt]$ mount /dev/discs/disc0/part1 /opt
mount: Mounting /dev/discs/disc0/part1 on /opt failed: Invalid argument

i have the dir /opt but its complete empty

    df shows

    [AVM701@AsusWlanHDD /opt]$ df
Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/root 3008 3008 0 100% /

so i think nothing is mounted

and thats my current firm 1.9.2.7-7e

    thanks for any replay
