new driver arrived from broadcom: 3.70.12.0

    find it here:

    http://files.wl500g.info/asus/wl120g.../3.70.12.0.rar

should also enable Afterburner technology at cards which are capable of doing it..

it seems the WL100g won't support this
and the Asus WL120g should do this according info based on upcoming release of the WL500gx

What exactly is "Afterburner technology"? Anyway, a pity that the WL100g doesn't support it, nomather what is

Where can we find info about the Wl-500gx?

EDIT: I have read the Asus press documment. This model looks nice. I guess that the afterburner is for the fast speed.

    Afterburner WORKS on WL-100g

Hi there, I recently formatted my laptop, installed the WL-100G with these 3.70 Broadcom drivers (had to do this manually, Windows says there is no driver in the extracted folder containing 3.70) and hey, I HAVE AFTERBURNER!

you can check the settings of your driver in the hardwarelist, on some tab you can edit the features, and enable Afterburner.

If you have previous driver installed, windows will use that instead of 3.70!!! so thats why most users think the wl-100g doesn't have Afterburner.

    to zilexa:

125* High Speed Mode With “Afterburner” technology, WL-520g can boost wireless transfer speeds by 35% compared compared with standard 802.11g speeds (Afterburner support is also required on client/adapter side, such as ASUS’ WL-100g Deluxe and WL-100g V2). Note: Actual throughput will vary depending on the wireless environment and other parameters.
so if you have a WL-100g V2 (never seen them myself..) it should support afterburner, but note that my WL-100g says in driver that it 'has' afterburner as well but it does not work

    Broadcom WLAN Utility & Driver 3.100.56.0 9X/2K/XP

I found some information for even newer Broadcom drivers:
    http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/remark,13129331
Unfortunately I was not able to install on my asus WL-100g...
I wanted to go on with the Asus Utility which seems to support WPA in the new version 2.2.6.5.
