Note: The latest Mac OS X driver is PCL and works like a charm across the network. It works both with the latest ASUS firmware and the HP/JetDirect-printserver in Oleg's firmware (which seems to be faster!).

on mac os X there is no proper driver for i865 for use with printservers (i.e. you cant use the osx driver delivered with the printer)
solution:
- CUPS driver from http://www.printfab.de (30day-trial)
- usb-plugged into apples airport express base station
- usb-plugged into canons wireless printserver

I am happynow. But don't forget to setup your printer for raw 9101 port communication.

Using Win XP SP2 I set the printer to use LPR mode (queue name LPRServer), I couldn't get raw mode to work. It's very slow compared to having the printer directly connected.
Note from admin: you can't use RAW printing because the stock asus firmware does not contain this (the changelog never said this also)

I installed it by making an local TCP/IP port, with the LPR options.
Then installed printer on that port. And voila it worked!

N.B. Wouldn't work with the RAW printing on port 9101, but works fine with the standard LPRServer printer queue.
