    Removing router interface from port 80?

    Port 80 is still going to the Router's web interface, I want to switch that to something else so no-one else knows there's a router with access enabled from the internet.

    The reed only post forwarding shows
    8080 routing to 192.168.1.1

    I can add a virtual server routing for a different port but how can I remove 80?

    Thanks, Tom.

    for Oleg there is http_lanport feature. Eg.
    Code:
    nvram set http_lanport=8008
    nvram commit && reboot

    Sorry, I did not understand this response?

    I appreciate any pointers so I can figure this out.

    Thanks, Tom.

    You can change the port number (default: 80) of the web-interface with those commands (with Olegs firmware, login via telnet or ssh).
    But: Changing the port number does not prevent hacking attempts. The only safe way is to use secure passwords with ssl tunnels (dropbear server on WL-500g).
