    Firmware v1.7.5.9 CR1 [Oleg]

    Download files@chupa here:
    firmware
    rootfs
    Sources for building

Guys, I've made new firmware available at wl500g page. It's based on 1.7.5.9 ASUS firmware.

Please read carefully everything before downloading (download link is at the bottom of page).

This new firmware features new approach for customizing firmware and storing of user configurable files in the flash. I the mean time I will remove bootCmds completely because it's now absoleted by persistent files feature. bootCmd was used at the early stage of building the custom firmware (they appears in 1.6.5.3-1) and was more like hackish way. With new persistent files feature you can completely alter boot scripts of the wl500g and customize it on your own.

As for other changes - this is mostly bug fixes for 1.7.5.6-5, there is no other major updates.

    Thumbs up

i just upgraded to 1.7.5.9-1 Wa~~~~ the tranfer rate in BT is much more higher. The upload rate at 9xx KB and the download rate at 6xx KB. I never see that over 3xx KB before i upgrade. I don't know what happen may be the internet connection very fast yesterday. but I believe the 1.7.5.9 does something to make it faster... Thanks....

But the wan port die issue is still occured......

    wl300b/g wl500b

    Hi all

Only one question. Is teoreticaly possible to upload fw. 1.7.5.9 CR1 to wl300b/g or wl500b?

    Does anybody try this?

(Maybe i will use cca 100 pcs. of ASUS in client mode, and 10$ can make change in absolute costs.)

I just flashed to this firmware and have the following problem (although I fear that it is not really firmware-related as I have experienced this with the two latest Asus releases as well )

I start from scratch after a factory reset with the quick setup. The only things I choose/enter are ADSL/PPPoE and user name/password. After the restart I am connected to the internet. If I do another restart without any changes by clicking on one of the finish buttons in the web interface, I am no longer connected to the internet and do not seem to be able to get there.

    The log shows:
    Code:

    wl500b

I tested this firmware on wl500b. Everything looks working fine, when i don't touch g-settings.

Is there some strange problem using this fw on 300g, or 300b? The size looks be the same, the hardware too.

Airblade: had the same problem after updating. Killed the power and plugged it back it. After booting, everything worked fine.

Hardware is different. If you brave enough and love risky thing, try flashing it. And if it boots ok, switch to AP mode. Probably client mode will work also in HomeGateway & Router config. If it does not boot then use firmware restoration (it's better to try using firmware restoration with known good firmware before upgrade). BUT THERE IS NO WARRANTY.

Power on/off. If it does not boot, use firmware restoration.

Any suggestions concerning my problem? Does the log look ok?
