Login problem

I'm pretty sure I set it up correctly. Here is what happens:
I go to Network Neighborhood. I click on the partition I am trying to access.
I get the login box. The part that I should enter my username is greyed out and already says "WL-HDD/Guest" and the password section is the only place I can enter anything. How to I get this to allow for usernames so we can log in?
I hope this makes sense........
