    VPN with wl500g

    Hi there,

i need to get an VPN Server work on my Router or on my desktop. On my desktop it did not work when i tested it yesterday, even with firewall off. I used the WindowsXP VPN-Server build in. But the client could not connect.
Now my idea was to use an VPN-Server within the Asus.

    1) Is it possible to use the WindowsXP VPN-Server? Which settings i have to set in the router.
To use the WindowsXP VPN i would prefer.

    2) If this is not possible...who to set up an VPN Server on my Asus and how to configure and how to configure the client?

    THX for help

You could install Oleg's custom firmware, and install OpenVPN on a USB memory stick. I'm using it to connect 2 sites and 3 roaming users. The only disadvantage is that I'm only able to pusg 1,5 Mb/s through the VPN link. I used a howto on this forum to set it up. I don't remember which thread I found it in, but if you search for openvpn ypu should be able to find it.

You've to configure virtual server and forward TCP port 1723 to your PC.

    Hi Oleg,

iam sure i´ve made this settings like you posted here. But we´ll test it again.

Only 1723 TCP is need to be forwarded? Because i was trying to forward protocol no 47, perhaps this was wrong

OK THX and i´ll try it
