WPA encryption?

Is there anyway to make this device work with a WPA encrypted home network?

When I tried to set this device up as a client Device it only gave me the option of WEP64 or 128.

Yet if u set the device up as an APN it allows WPA.

thats just stupid.

well I have installed your firmware and there now seems to be no setting setting the WL-HDD to use WPA as a client only as an AP

Hi - Could you elaborate on how to configure WLHDD as a client? I loaded your firmware revision 1.9.2.7.-7g and only have 2 options - Access Point or Home Gateway. I haven't had a chance to explore all the nifty options added into the firmware, but I'm hoping it's a fairly simple process. If I select AP then I only have the option to add a bridge via MAC address - the old option of just adding a SSID into the list of access points seems to have disappeared. Cheers.

Answered my own query:

Choose Access Point as the operations mode.
Under Wireless interface configure the SSID and details of the AP you wish to connect to.
Underneath the Advanced options in Wireless change the Extended Mode to Ethernet Bridge.
Assuming your AP has been configured (reboot may be required)
Then reboot WLHDD and it should connect to the AP.

Works for me with WPA PSK - Cool!

You may want to start out using the LAN point if your settings get twisted in knot.
