I flashed the current OLEG firmware for a second time
and restored factory settings. After entering ISP data
everything worked fine.
Hi!
Since my connection speed has been raised from 2000 kBit/s to 6000 kBit/s I only get 1000 kBit/s downstream and about 180 kBit/s upstream. The WL500g is flashed with the current firmware v1.9.2.7CR7e. Everything worked fine with the line speed at 2000 kBit/s. Now, if I connect the pc directly to the Xentrix modem, I get full speed (6000/640). Connected to the router, I get the low speed either via WLAN and LAN. Changing the MTU/MRU in the router configuration didn't help. Disabling the Firewall didn't do it either.
Any suggestions?
Problem with the PPoE driver?
Do I have to buy a new router?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards
hvonjomega

Many thanks for 7f, Oleg!
The USB speed-up is very welcome with my 500gx connected to my Topfield PVR.
I'm having some problems with changing the Samba configuration.
The config file is in /etc/smb.conf, but after changing it and rebooting the router it's set to the standards coming with the new oleg firmware. Even when saving the flash and committing it.
Also, with Samba I want to change the name that's shown in the network enverimont, from Samba etc. etc. to something like 'Router'.
Normal I would start samba with quote below, and that defines the name of the router.. Can I still change it somewhere now it's integrated?
Got any ideas?/usr/sbin/smbd -D -l /opt/var/log/smbd.log -s /opt/etc/samba/smb.conf
/usr/sbin/nmbd -D -n Router -o -l /tmp -s /opt/etc/samba/smb.conf

Hi Oleg,
Just for the sake of it i tried to upgrade my wl500g (not de luxe) from 7e to 7f today.
I have reset the wl500g twice after the firmware upgrade, but NTP doesn't seem to work anymore.
The is no entry in the syslog file about ntp.
i am pointing to nl.pool.ntp.org which used to work fine.
I have not downgraded to 7e yet. I hope you can help to get it going without downgrading.
How can i test NTP? are there any other logs i can look at?
update:
-I flashed firmware 7f again. No improvement. still no sign of NTP
I also did a factory reset several times (5 sec. reset on the back of the unit until power led started rapidly flashing)
-I have downgraded to 7e now. NTP works without problem with the old firmware.
Can i conclude there is a problem in the 7f firmware?

Hi Oleg,
Again thank you for your great work ! I just upgraded my router and noticed that if i try to upgrade through wireless the router drops the connection. Is this by design?
I was upgrading from 7e to 7f...
All went fine through cable connection....

Max2950: Never update your router via the wireless interface! I once tried that by mistake, and I had to use the firmware recovery mode to fix it...

Ok, i gave the f firmware a test run, and it runs like a charm. However, on my webcam the picture is still mirrored horizontally ....
I have a PHILIPS ToUcam FUN II (PCVC830K i guess ...)
