Hi all, is possilbe make with your firmware this:

WAN - as line from ISP (cable)
LAN and WIFI - on the same network, and using the same inner asus DHCP, WIFI in AP mode (connect for notebooks etc.), LAN port for other PCs.

Original firmware work as this (i think):
WAN and WIFI on the same network (?)
LAN with asus inner DHCP for clients, bud i need wifi for clients too, not for ISP, for ISP i have WAN port.

yes, its standard "Home gateway" mode I think (System setup -> Operation mode) - I have set this at my home (PCs connected to LAN ports + my notebook connected via WiFi all of them getting IP from DHCP, internet connected to WAN port)

lazy to downgrade FW, upgraded Marvell driver and everything seems to be okay...for now

Weird, when I updated the driver, it didn' t work. Which one did you download?

Hi Oleg,

It looks like there is a little bug with security mode:

When the option is activated, the image file is attached in mail but this one is empty (0Kb). So unusable.

Working fine with official fw 1.9.5.0.

(wl500g in acces point mode - logitech 4000 pro webcam)

I cant get into the wl-500g anymore after i set it in AP mode.
And I cant reset it.
I think its the 1.9.2.7 rc7 i use

I have the 500g but with samba enable the usb 1.1 speed is not good.

To resolve this problem, I want to buy a 500g delux with 2 usb 2.0 port.

Two questions :

- With samba usb speed must be better ?
- I'm very happy with your firmware on my 500g, is it ok for 500g delux ?

I think there's separate firmware for WL500g Deluxe, also made by Oleg

Samba will probably work faster with Deluxe (faster "CPU", USB2.0), but not tested by me

if you don't want to do this jump, and if you merge BusyBox 1.1.3 (stable) with lots of bugfix release like:

-makes passwd use salt, fixes a memory freeing bug in ls, fixes "build all sources at once" mode, makes mount -a not abort on the first failure, fixes msh so ctrl-c doesn't kill background processes, makes patch work with patch hunks that don't have a timestamp, make less's text search a lot more robust (the old one could segfault), and fixes readlink -f when built against uClibc.

-bug fix release consisting of 11 patches backported from the development branch: Some build fixes, several fixes for mount and nfsmount, a fix for insmod on big endian systems, a fix for find -xdev, and a fix for comm. Check the file "changelog" in the tarball for more info.

Hi guys,

I wish to use Oleg's firmware because of the Samba feature.

I have tried to instal the 7e version on my WL500G Deluxe for several times now, but i cannot axcess the router because it is constantly rebooting itself (app. every 10 sec). Resetting doesn't work (button and diconecting power).

I don't know what to do anymore. Please help
