Sounds very exiting. Unfortunately the link doesn't work Can you publish the binaries again?
Sometimes I need access from my Asus box to SMB shares (SMBClient from Asus), use RPC and so on. So I have compiled SMB tools for this stuffs. Path schemes are compatible with Oleg's firmware. Only 'codepages' directory must go on '/tmp/harddisk/', binaries may go anywhere. You can download it here: http://www.fit.vutbr.cz/~skarvada/samba-2.2.12.tar.bz2 Maybe that somebody will found this post useful.
P.S.: Many thanks to Oleg for his great firmware - it thrust my Asus to new dimension.

640kB will be enough for everybody, but not for my Asus box!

I'am so sorry for malfunction, but there were some upgrades on department server, the binary is now located at: http://www.fit.vutbr.cz/~skarvada/as...2.2.12.tar.bz2
Have you enjoy it!
Hello again and super thanx for the binary
smbclient is just what I've been missing - now the router are just a little bit more perfect!
I'm running Olegs firmware 1.9.2.7-6b
But I hope you can help me with a little problem:
When I want to connect with:
I get this in reply:Code:/opt/samba/bin/smbclient //TT-IBMT40/Dokumenter -N
To connect I got to supply the -I option:Code:can't determine netmask for br0 WARNING: no network interfaces found Connection to TT-IBMT40 failed
Then I get this:Code:/opt/samba/bin/smbclient //TT-IBMT40/Dokumenter -N -I 192.168.1.201
Then everything is fine - but is there a way to avoid supplying the IP adress of the computer?Code:can't determine netmask for br0 WARNING: no network interfaces found Domain=[ARBEJDSGRUPPE] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager] smb: \>
Ups... Just found out:
If I add:
to /etc/smb.conf everything is fine!Code:[global] interfaces = 192.168.2.1/24 192.168.1.1/24 bind interfaces only = yes ...
But before I got this in smb.conf:
Do you know a way to use br0 and eth1 instead of IP addr. in smb.conf?Code:[global] interfaces = br0 bind interfaces only = yes ...
I've tried with:
But then I'm told that:Code:interfacec = br0/24 eth1/24
But aside from that, thanx again!Code:Can't determine ip for broadcast address br0 Can't determine ip for broadcast address eth1 WARNING: no network interfaces found Connection to TT-IBMT40 failed

Hmm, it sounds like smbclient incompatibility. I will look into sources when I will have some free time and try to patch it. I haven't noticed it yet becouse I am using numerical IP/netmask in my smb configs. Very simple workaround exists: If you need to use interface names, it is still possible to generate smb.conf dynamicaly from post boot script where you lookup interface names from originall smb.conf to IP/netmask and rewrite it back to RAMFS and finally signal SIGHUP to samba.
