Antiloop, you said that your quickcam 4000 started working all of a sudden, was it with this beta firmware?
edit: never mind, tested the beta, still no working webcam. The beta's GUI seems to be much slower.

my gui was slow too, in the beginning now it's just fast..Originally Posted by copycat
yes it just started working, see i made some mistakes too
wl500g was running PWC 8.8 already
but the cam did not work in CR2, did not have time to switch back to CR2

You're lucky, the 4000 is already supported by 8.8, the sphere isn't. I went back to CR2a or 2.1 as it is now called
yes called it 2.1 as 2a was confusing also 2-test is confusingOriginally Posted by copycat
i want to have all 'important' firmwares listed inhere.
we need to create a a good versioning so everybody know which version it's using
also it would be nice to see in the asus websetup page which customized version you're using, and as far as i've seen it should be almost easily possible to change this.

and what do you mean by 'I can nothing in Linux' you mean you can't access the device by telnet?
please urgently note that there is and always will be difference between Asus firmwares and custom firmwares.
This is a BETA firmware from asus, not intented for normal use.
