Changing back to cable modem

Someone recently changed my computer over to an asus wl-500-w wifi router and I need to know step by step the disconnect process and how to change my ports back to get my computer to function on the regular cable modem. is it as simple as going to tools\connections and choosing server or do I have to know the number of the server?.
