Thread: Kernel Version

    Question Kernel Version

    Hi,

does any body know what Kernel Version the original Firmware from ASUS has ??

It doesn't seems to be the 2.4.20 Version, or ASUS has patched the hell out of it, what doesn't make any sence is, that there is no real file ID inside the Sources everything seems to bo gone. I did a Diff to the original 2.4.20 and was surprised what was killed.

That ASUS put some stuff in it for there boot of things OK, that ASUS stripped some things off is OK also, but that ASUS or may be BROADCOM patched that bad in it, that's strange !!

Somebody was realy lasy there and was trying to get some USB-Stuff from the newer kernel (2.4.25) working on it and just copied the most of it over the old files.

This is the linux-mips 2.4.20 kernel, which was then patched by broadcom. USB stuff is done by ASUS.
