BogoMIPS means nothing comparing to other cpu's...

It is not usable for performance comparison between different CPUshappy?MemTotal: 255416 kB
sooo the guy from the dutch store told me RT-N66U is available in 10-14 days according to the supplier
I managed to get it into the dutch price compare site: http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/29377...tml#tab:prices
downside is... only the expensive shops are visible at this moment
RT-N66U may not have a BCM4706 but a BCM5300(3) instead, looking to these linux line:
system type: Broadcom BCM5300 chip rev 1 pkg 0

RT-N66U should perform almost the same since HW specs are almost the same.

USB transfer could be better, but we will see it soon.
Looks good to me.
I'm impressed by the wifi speeds
and to be honest... 11MB/s isn't that bad either. What I want to see is the EXT3 performance tho, it's more lightweight I guess.
So far the speed still slightly topped over my expectations, so I can't wait
Seems like the supplier was wrong about the release date tho, the stores still say 1-2 weeks after 1-2 weeks
Yesterday i've seen the prices on your country and they're far from 135Ђ, it was a typo?
I mailed the store again, since I want router
aaaaand they say it should be at the supplier on 6-11-2011... well not a big delay which I feared, so I guess other stores in europe will start selling the rt-n66u soon as well
I will wait for your bought, after i see the results with USB transfer rate i will decide I just don't want to expend 150-200Ђ on a router that only transfer more 2-3mb/s than my RT-N16, i don't need 5GHZ wireless so...
Well in reality RT-N66U is just to "play with" because with that money i could buy other ATOM board and transform it in a wireless router
Yes well... it won't be running oleg the first day I guess. lly and themir0n have started working on it for a few weeks now already tho
true true, get an atom board of 50 euro, get an extra ethernet adapter to hook up to a switch and you're pretty much done.
But, I doubt an atom is able to reach proper wireless speeds. I've an asus 1215n with an atom D525 (the crиme de la crиme of atoms pretty much) and the pci-e bus to my intel ultimate-n 6300agn card is just too slow, cpu reaches to the top and I'm only able to reach a fraction of the speed I could get with that wireless card
On wired speeds it will be allright for sure but you'll always have the higher energy costs
I guess that depends, im using a Atheros Mini-PCI Express on my Atom Router and its running just fine in range and speed. If you use the same chip of a router i guess it dont make a difference on a ATOM.
