2) do not know, startup scripts in flashfs is same, config files not. Backup both first.
Dear WL-500gP users,
I would like to replace my USB HDD (320Gb) with 2Gb flash drive. My router has Oleg's FW ver. 1.9.2.7-10 and it is installed according to tutorial in showthread.php?t=10307.
Is there a simple way to copy the /opt partition to the flash drive, or I have to reinstall the packages and create the scripts from scratch?
I'm also planning to upgrade to the new version from Google code. Will it effect my old installation?
Thanx and regards,
T.

Dear gouryella,
thank you for your fast reply.
The method described in the posted link is for target > source. But I have the opposite case.
I'm not sure about Acronis, because I'm afraid that it will change my rights
Any other ideas?
T.
After you have manually partitioned the new HDD a simple "cp -ax" from the old to the new partitions should do the trick.
No messing around with Acronis and stuff.
Are you aware that USB-Sticks have wearout? After ∼ 100.000 to 1.000.000 write cycles, memory is broken.
I would do a complete new installation. Maybe with this script:

If you dont Swap on the Stick wearout should not be a problem.
An 1,8" HDD would be an alternative, i use an old iPod drive.
Modern drives are available for approx 50€ / 120Gig.
Complete new install is not necessary, i have done the same (from the last Oleg to enthusiast) without any big problems.
If the web UI dosnt come up again, wait 10 or 15 min and then unplug the Router from his power Cord to restard. One thing that could accour is that you dont have SSH directly after upgrade.
