    Internet connection availability logging

Quite often (once a day at least) I lost Internet connection.

How to log Internet connection using the WL-500gp?

Some cron script pinging define servers and writing to log when timed out needed. Or any other idea?

Generally, I need a summary, when the Internet was not available.

Do you have a pppoe DSL-connection? With such a connection, it is quite normal to have a disconnect after 24h.

In the syslog, the connection-time is logged when the connection is terminated.

I have Ethernet cable from ISP (RJ-45 cable from ISP directly connected to WAN port in WL500GP).

Router stays connected to ISP network. I can ping ISP’s DNS servers, but web pages don’t load. So, log from router is not helpful.

I think, that problem is not in my connection to ISP, but in Internet gateway.

I want to be sure, that servers outside my ISP network are accessible. Pinging a few servers in the Internet seems to be good idea.
