Works fine with "asus speaker express" plugin for M$ media player (tested on MP9)

Device costs £12.99. Has one socket only, for headphone type audio jack from your speakers etc (or any other audio device of your choice). Has USB cable of aprox 0.5m length. Has an on-off switch - recommend turning on before testing to avoid frustration .

Grabbing this from an older thread, haven't tried these devices myself. Thus I can't include much info. Maybe someone else will fill in the blanks.

Comodow PD552 - Working with Asus plugin

This is the cheapest thing I've found on the market, and it works, also with an USB hub.

Application used to test: I used the Asus Speaker Express Plugin for Media Player 9, which comes bundled with firmware version 1.9.2.7. The plugin makes Media Player 10 seems to crash a lot here, and every time it does, the plugin is turned off. The problem may be related to the firewall (ZoneAlarm). Another interesting detail is that the music streamed through router seems to be about half a second ahead of the regular speakers.

I'm streaming the music over the wireless network. If I download a webpage the audio stream will halt temporarly. I have not tested this wired.

I will now look into testing the other streaming alternatives as described elsewhere on this site, with a focus on playing from the USB drive.
