    Asus X D-Link

Hello, I need and advice which router I should buy: I am considering D-Link DIR-825 or Asus RT-N16.

I´d rather have D-Link, but I read somewhere that they often break down and that the firmware sucks. But I have heard that Asus is very good so I don´t know which one I should buy.

D-Link DIR-825 has interesting specs but i would prefer ASUS RT-N16.

    CPU Speed: Atheros 680 Mhz
    Flash size: 8 MB
    RAM: 64 MB
    Wireless: 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz

    true
on the other hand, the RT-N16 has 128MB ram and was it 32MB flash?
And the DIR-825 has 5GHz band, but it only has 2 antennas

    Hello....first post

Can´t access ionline.pt and correiomanha.pt from netcabo Lisbon with this router (rt n16) with Teddy bear´s Tomato.

Yesterday all was fine with asus wl500gp with tomato victek.

Replaced now with WL500gp, everythings fine again.

    Any idea

    P:S (Tomato w/ default config)

Have you tried opening those pages on RT-N16 with other FW? ASUS Original for example....

Will try it later. Really did not tested original ASUS firmware that came with the router nor the newest (if there is one) because what i really want is a firmware like Tomato 1.27 or tomato victek (don´t like dd-wrt).

I have one WL500gp with tomato victek, one wrt54gl also with tomato victek and everything was doing fine.

I went to buy a rt-n16 as soon as i knew that there was tomato firmware support for it.

Loaded dd-wrt and next tomato, doing exactly like it was told in the forum.

No complains, except that part of being impossible to get ionline.pt and correiomanha.pt

who.is reported those sites being active!!!

those two sites ip are in the 62.xx.xx.xx area strangely!

i could ping other ip but those not.

    Very strange indeed

That could be the problem, maybe for some reason those IPs are being blocked by the router.

Pinging www.correiodamanha.pt [62.28.82.5] with 32 bytes of data:

I also don't know the reason, but changing to ASUS FW it's the only way to see if the problem it's related with Tomato.
