    Unknown Error....any inquirys?

    Hello,

I am brand new here and found this forum off of google. I am in an inquery as to what my problem may be with my laptop and connecting to my wireless network. I have the ASUS WL-500W and every since 3 weeks ago, my laptop seems to not be able to connect to it. I am not quite sure if the problem stems from my laptop or from my router, one thing I do know is that I can connect to the router from my laptop wired, and my laptop will connect to other wireless routers(just not mine ). I have updated my adapter drivers on my laptop, the firmware to the ASUS Router (all the way to the most most recent) and still it gives me this error.

Please if anyone could help it would be great. I have read on some forums that it may be from the newest vista update. I really am at a loss here.

Thank you to anyone who attempts to help, I really really appreciate it!!!

    odd problem

    you can try these things:
completely reset your router to manufacturers defaults
check if your router has the lastest firmware
try different wireless encryption methods (try completely open first)

    if these things don't work...
then the chance is big there is something wrong with your notebook, but it still can be the router itself tho...
you can try to completely de-install the network-card including all the drivers, restart, install drivers again.

one other thing is: if you don't know mutch about wireless settings, never touch the advanced wireless settings tab! they can screw up you entire wireless network

I hope this works for you

    Exclamation

I must add, it would be nice to connect to your wl500w with another wireless device (another notebook, or something else), and if its problem persists, you have a problem with you wl500w

ps sorry for my english ;-)
