    WL-HDD auto power-off?

    Hi,

I'm using Oleg's current firmware. Well, I don't know if it's a firmware bug or a problem with my WL-HDD:

    Let me explain:
I'm trying to download a bigger file via http using wget. After some time, the download just stops. Every time. I've tried diffrent servers.
Also the uptime: Even if the WL-HDD is running for days, it doesn't seem to do it constantly. After some time it seems to stop running.

Have you experienced similiar problems, or is it a possible hardware fault?

Just for clarification: are you running wget on the WL-HDD, or are you downloading on your PC via the WL-HDD?

im connecting via ssh and then using wget to download.
    but it's just an example.
when i listen to mp3's stored on the wl-hdd, i also experience similiar problems.
the music just stops, and i can't hear any harddisk activity.

my friend also bought a wl-hdd, and he hasn't got any problems.

Reset TWICE your factory default using web admin page.

Set back your option. be conservative at first, and keep maximum number of value to default. Don't use WMM options, and avoid using wshaper at first.

See if you still get your errors. This should help.

Well, I tried your tip - and it still didn't work. So I returned my WL-HDD to the shop I bought it at. They gave me a new one. And guess what: The same problem.

I don't use my WL-HDD for anything else than store mp3's or download via http, cause at the moment I'm quite busy studying.
The only things I did are turn off wlan and change admin password.

Maybe it's not the WL-HDD but the used harddrive. Possible?

Do you have the problem without flashing any hardware, and by using factory settings (ie 192.168.1.220 address)?

If it's the case, then yes, your HD my be faulty. Try to format it again with WLHDD admin webpage

you can also try to restore factory default twice, but by using the button on wl-hdd, if you are actually booted on oleg's firmware. Press the button for more than 10 seconds until the led blinks, and wait.

then redo this a second time.

try to connect to wl-hdd using a static ip adress 192.168.1.10
if you have problem using dhcp after this foactory reset
