Hi dony71,
nop, it's not true anymore.
With firmware > 1.2.3.0 the limitation is 80GB per partition.
With four possible partitions this will get you up to 320GB on the HDD which to my knowledge is not available yet on a 2,5" device.
Cheers,
Pepe
Hii all,
I plan to buy this WL-HDD2.5 but as I pull the spec from ASUS website,
I'm really disappointed seeing max HD supported only 40GB
Is it really true ???

The old firmware support larger hdd than 40gb. 40gb is only the limitation of a partition. if you use the old firmware with a larger hdd, you must create more than one partition. Alternatively you can flash the new 1.2.3.0 firmware, which supports partitions up to 160gb.
Are you sure about the 160GB?Originally Posted by Snake-Dsl

Is there anything documended somewhere?

Look at this release info from 1.2.3.0:
1. 1. format partition to ext3 filesystem
2. 2. usb storage to share
3. 3. disk free space
4. 4. computer name can be set different from SSID
5. 5. running script
6. 6. Windows 98/ME work with FAT on WL-HDD
7. 7. 40GB partition limit to 160GB
8. 8. connection limit to 12
9. 9. Fix: data exist after formatting
10. 10. turn of USB LED while formatting
11. 11. disable the usb ftp while usb mode is set to autocopy
Interesting, I'm running firmware 1.2.3.4
I'm able to connect and access my 200g USB HDD and share it without issue. It's one big parition and I'm not having any problems with it at all.
Great in this case it´s not necesary the oleg firmware...
Thanks
I operate a 160 GB 2,5 HD in it, without probs so far .....
