Alex, the problem is that my firmware does not mount your harddisk automatically, you will need to do it yourself using the post-boot script. The easiest way is to add these lines to it:Originally Posted by AlexSuslov
This should trigger mounting your drive in 10 seconds and launching ftp/samba.Code:#!/bin/sh nvram set usb_storage_device=1
What does the router do with OOB (Out of Band) packets?
I'm having problems getting any punkbuster game to work. I have tried router with and without firewall turned on? Does it ignore OOB's?
Thanks
Adam
HI.
I have a problem with the router and the printer(hp deskjet 5652). In the past two days in the system log I get this infoWhen I turn on the printer she prints the latest printed document. It's in Raw port 9100, USB.Code:Feb 22 16:03:55 kernel: lp_wait_ready timeout Feb 22 16:03:55 kernel: lp_write timeout Feb 22 16:04:00 kernel: lp_wait_ready timeout Feb 22 16:04:00 kernel: lp_write timeout Feb 22 16:04:05 kernel: lp_wait_ready timeout Feb 22 16:04:05 kernel: lp_write timeout Feb 22 16:04:10 kernel: lp_wait_ready timeout Feb 22 16:04:10 kernel: lp_write timeout Feb 22 16:04:15 kernel: lp_wait_ready timeout Feb 22 16:04:15 kernel: lp_write timeout Feb 22 16:04:20 kernel: lp_wait_ready timeout Feb 22 16:04:20 kernel: lp_write timeout Feb 22 16:04:25 kernel: lp_wait_ready timeout Feb 22 16:04:25 kernel: lp_write timeout Feb 22 16:04:30 kernel: lp_wait_ready timeout Feb 22 16:04:30 kernel: lp_write timeout
I've readed a similar problem in the previous fw version.
Any news about this?
My fw is 1.9.2.7-cr3c with wpa-psk my wan(2 asus and 1 toshiba) and lan has 3 laptops and 2 desktops.
Thanks.

According to your log you are trying to print via parallel port using either port 9101 or LPR.Originally Posted by kiboko
the printer is connected by usb, port 9100 in both asus laptops. No other laptop or desktop uses the printer.
Problem solved. A friend of mine who also has a wl-500g and has configured his printer in parallel mode has come to my house with his laptop. I believe that was the reason why the router act like this. I've restarted the router and now everything is ok.
thanks.
I Have a strange problem, I have to reset my AP sometimes. When I look with Netstumbler to my AP I see the following:
Does anyone have seen this before?
Well, looks like corrupted packets. Also, the receive signal is too strong - -28dB - have you changed output power somehow or attached external antenna?Originally Posted by freestuff
Device: WL500g
Firmware: 1.9.2.7 CR3c
Problem: MPPE required, but kernel has no support :-(
I try to connect to ISP over VPN connection.
My options.pptp file:
-----------------------------------------
lock
noauth
nobsdcomp
nodeflate
require-mppe
-----------------------------------------
My peer file:
-----------------------------------------
name myname
remotename PPTP
ipparam quadra
file /etc/ppp/options.pptp
-----------------------------------------
Files pap-secret and chap-secret exists and are correct.
Adn I start my connection with command
pppd pty 'pptp 10.4.0.254 --nolaunchpppd' call quadra updetach
This that I see:
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/1
Warning - secret file /tmp/ppp/pap-secrets has world and/or group access
Warning - secret file /tmp/ppp/chap-secrets has world and/or group access
MPPE required, but kernel has no support.
Connection terminated.
:-(((
This string is from kernel log:
Jan 1 03:00:03 kernel: MPPE/MPPC encryption/compression module registered
Sorry for my bad English :-(
This is not an 1.9.2.7-3c log - either you've not upgraded firmware, or it does not belong to wl500g at all. Is this peer (server) log?Originally Posted by KO(c)Tik
1.9.2.7-3c supports MPPE/MPPC out of the box, no manual actions required at all - just select PPTP.
Sorry, can i speek russian with you? My english is to poore to discribe all my manipulations with this deviceOriginally Posted by Oleg
But i can say with 100%, that firmware is 1.9.2.7-3c. This text is not a log, this is what i see on my display, when i try to connect to my VPN server by executing the following command.
pppd pty 'pptp 10.4.0.254 --nolaunchpppd' call quadra updetach
