Hello to everyone,

I'm new in this forum and last week I acquired the asus wl-500gp v2 with an e220 modem to connect to internet and use the connection on 2 pc. I'm in Italy and I'm using h3g as carrier with a plan that give me 1 gb every day.

I updated the stock kernel present on the router (2.0.0.5) with this:
http://koppel.cz/cdmawifi/download/1...-USB-1.69a.trx and found little problem with connection (I found the italian guide at this address: http://daviez.wordpress.com/guide/as...2-huawei-e220/).

I see some tutorial on this forum but I can say that I am very confused, and sincerely I don't know where to start.

Maybe is simple to sayyou what I want to do: first of all, what I want to do is to control the connection statistics, i.e., how much data is uploaded and downloaded, the sum of the previous, and if possible I want control the connection speed (like the dashboard do in windows); I see that I can use the nvstat for the first control (amount of data exchanged): is it true? It is difficult to use and collect the data? I'm not a novice with linux but also not an expert.
For the second control (speed connection) what package can I use?

The third problem is the connection start. I follow the guide that I say previously, but I don't understand well the passages at the end. However, now, I have this situation: when I start the router, the connection starts automatically (after I think 1 minute). Now what I want is a simple mode in windows to start and stop the connection, or at least, to stop it. I want to do this because the second pc is used by my father and sister and they are very very very newbies. With this, I can also stop and restart a not so good connection: infact, when you use cellular connection, after some time the connection is lost and the quick to have it working is to stop and restart it.

Hope you can give me some suggestion.
