Hallo...I would like to know if there's a way to build a small media server in the Asus (small disk usb-attached with mp3s..) to be able to access the music, not streamed music, like a radio, but the single songs, and music playlists. from remote pcs in the LAN (or even better internet) using winamp or VLC on the remote pc (to make it simpler I don't need a web interface, I could just go around with a big playlist (like .m3u) with all the links to the songs inside it
thankz everybody!!!|

In the lighttpd.conf file you can define the root folder of the web server (look for server.document-root), for instance /opt/share/www/ . Create an additional folder, for instance /opt/share/www/mp3/, where you store your mp3's. If you type http://ip-adres/mp3 in your web browser, you will see a listing of the files in this folder. Winamp has a browser function, that you can use to can stream them.

Hi,
with original firmware by Asus I tested my mediastreamer client
to access media files via wifi
in /share directory on usb disk
it worked fine until my mediastreamer stopped to run
and any update or reinstallation does nothing.
Click on mediastreamer and opening, opening, ...
and nothing.
Is UPnP still a valid option on Olegs firmware
and access media files with mediastreamer client ?
The issue is I use internet tablet and there is no winamp port to it.
Darius
Sorry, can't help you there.
