    hardware-mod

    Hi,
    here http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtop...er=asc&start=0

a user descriebs an interesting hardware-mod (don't know if it applies to the 500-w also, but I think theres a good chance). Someone here tried yet?

I'm not sure if there are any disadvantages? (and how this fault-soldering can be possible??)

Well, since the Wireless-Card is likely the only thing the 500W is different from the gP, there is a good chance they fixed this!
But the only way to find out is to open your box!
I won't play around with my router, in case Asus has to change something on the hardware-side to make it compatible with the final 802.11n

ok, but i think that compatible-garanty isn't valid for me - only for buyers prior december 2007.
but perhaps a fw-update will do the trick.
i guess my router suffers from this to, i only get -92 db noise, whereas a linksys wrt at the same place showed ca. 96-98 dB.
ok, one will see, i wait a little longer...

    thanks
