    Reestablish wireless firewall possible

As you may have noticed Asus dropped in all their wisedom the wireless firewall from the latest firmware.

As people here (like Oleg and Antilope) seems to know more about the matter then Asus does. Is there any change of reestablishing the wireless firewall in new custom releases build on 1.8.1.7 (or .9) GPL?

I saw somewhere that is was due to flash size limitations and dropped in favor of other stuff. Personally I like the idea of having a separate firewall for shielding my LAN from WLAN. To me it just looks like an ip-tables configuration issue, so what is the cost?

For you I make special price, because you are friend: EUR 3000,--

Seriously: I don't think it will be done because of limited flash space.

Well, we have no affiliation with ASUS. But I could read source code.
Wireless Firewall seems to be removed due to a numeric problems with upnp as seems, Asus is unwilling to fix this, as seems.
Well, it does not increase size significantly (perhaps several KB which is noop for flash), compared to zebra, but it was removed just to simplify firmware as seems.
Adding it back in tremendous pain anyway.

See, that is the difference. Asked this to Asus twice and they are still thinking it over. Asked it here once and got almost immediate respons.

Anyway, I may not like the answer but at least I know what to expect. I like the router for it's price and features but I like Asus less from what I experienced sofar.

Styno, sorry for you, but for EUR. 3000 I'd prefer to buy some real gear instead of this hobby stuff.

Bummer, you sure don't want to think it over?
