    Problem opening ports

I feel stupid posting this, but I can't get my wl500-w to open any ports that I add in the virtual server. (to be honest, I find this router extremely picky when changing any settings to do with wireless stuff. )

I have the latest asus firmware and am using my laptop wireless (802.11g).

I have DHCP set to manually give this computer 192.168.1.100 every time and have this entry under virtual server to get my utorrent open:

    Port Range: 22565
    Local IP: 192.168.1.100
    Local port: 22565
    Protocol: Both
    Protocol No: <blank>
    Description: utor1

Any suggestions or hints that anyone knows of that could help me out?

You seem to have followed the instructions at Portforward.com, it looks okay.

Probably these won't help, but just to cover all the simpliest of angles:
    - You do have Virtual Server enabled?
    - You did press "Finish" so that the router rebooted?
    - You have 192.168.1.1 as gateway in you computer's IP settings? (although your net probably wouldn't work if you didn't)

Also, could be your software firewall, you should have added 192.168.1.1 (and to be safe, 192.168.1.100) to be "trusted" or whatever it's called in your software. Fumble around with the firewall's settings.

Do you mean that uTorrent's Speed Guide Port Checker reports that the port is not open?

    Try to disable UPnP.
