I'm looking at upgrading Samba on my 700g (with Kfurge). Does anyone have any steps/thoughts on the process? I've installed the latest version (3.0.26a-1) and copied tmp/samba/lib/smb.conf (current Samba configs) to /opt/etc/samba smb.conf.

I started the new Samba and things seem to work, I could connect to the shares defined in smb.conf.. but didn't go any further since wasn't sure if something could get screwed up.

The smb.conf still points to /shares/MYVOLUME1/__pdc which contains the 'old' passdb.tdb password file, would this work with the upgraded Samba or should I store this somewhere else?

Should any files be moved/copied/upgraded to the new version, such as any filesin/tmp/samba/var/locks?

Thanks ahead of time..

Regards,
