How to install the 1.8.1.7-2a package?

    Hi all,

I download the 1.8.1.7-2a package from wl500g.dyndns.org, I untar it to the directory of broadcom/src, and type 'make' to apply the patch.

After the patch, I go to the router directory to 'make images-wl500g', but the result is remain 1.8.1.7, not plus 2a.

Are there additional steps to upgrade the 1.8.1.7 to 2a version?

BTW: Anyone have been compile this package successfully?

    TIA.

    still have problems

    Following is my steps:

    tar zxvf GPL_1817.tar.gz
    tar jxvf wl500g-1.8.1.7-2a.tar.bz2
    mv wl500g-1.8.1.7-2a /home/user/broadcom/src/
    cd /home/user/broadcom/src/wl500g-1.8.1.7-2a/
    make

    this procedure is ok, then

    cd /home/user/broadcom/src/gateway/
    make images-WL500g

    make -C busybox STRIP=mipsel-uclibc-strip PREFIX=/home/user/broadcom/src/gateway/mipsel-uclibc/install/busybox install
    make[3]: Entering directory `/home/user/broadcom/src/gateway/busybox'
make[3]: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.
    make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/user/broadcom/src/gateway/busybox'
    make[2]: *** [busybox-install] Error 2
    make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/user/broadcom/src/gateway'
    make[1]: *** [image-WL500g] Error 2
    make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/user/broadcom/src/gateway'
    make: *** [images-WL500g] Error 2

Can you tell me the reason???

    Re:

I continue by make the busybox and kernel manually, but there is still problem which prohibit me going:

    make -C /home/user/broadcom/src/linux/linux/scripts/squashfs mksquashfs CC=gcc
make: *** /home/user/broadcom/src/linux/linux/scripts/squashfs: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: Entering an unknown directorymake: Leaving an unknown directorymake[2]: *** [install] Error 2
    make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/user/broadcom/src/gateway'
    make[1]: *** [image-WL500g] Error 2
    make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/user/broadcom/src/gateway'
    make: *** [images-WL500g] Error 2

Very disappointed, for I can't find any readme or instructions to install this package, any body can tell me what's wrong with me?
