You could type "shutdown" with or without the "-r" option
Hello,
how can I shutdown cleanly from the command line?
Thanks in advance.
You could type "shutdown" with or without the "-r" option
I haven't seen 'shutdown' on the router, however, you may try to use 'halt'.
Oops, sorry, it was a question about wl700, but my answer was about Oleg's wl500. Disregard it, please.
FWIW, the router doesn't actually shut down when you hit the power button. The CPU, SDRAM, etc., are all still active. Only the HDD and front panel lights are off (and probably the radio too, I'm not sure). Pressing the power button to turn the router back "on" simply reboots the box.
You might be able to coax it into shutting down by executing /sbin/miscio_input_change. This is normally executed by the kernel when the power button is pressed.
