remove files on usb via smb - free space not updated

I have stock firmware 1.9.7.5 and a usb drive attached. If I delete files via samba, they appear to be deleted but if I go to the USB status page, the free space never changes, even after I hit refresh.

If I try to move more files over via SMB, the router locks up and I have to reboot it.

    Any ideas?

if you go on web interface at System Command and there type
    df and then enter

    you should get something simmilar

Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/root 2880 2880 0 100% /
    /dev/discs/disc0/part1 1005280 97008 908272 10% /tmp/harddisk

try it before deleting and after

I go to the USB status page
    how do you do that?
    i never did that !

It must be the original, offical firware, it has an USB Status page. And yes, it doesn't updates, till next reboot/remount. Asus'es sh*t stuff.

Yes, it is the official asus firmware. Rebooting for it to update is pretty sad.

I guess I'll have to take the time and install oleg's firmware.
