WRT54G with internet and WL500G in bridge

Okay, I have an Asus WL500G and a Linksys WRT54G (running the Alchemy firmware).

I've previously had them set up as a wireless bridge before, with the WL500G being the one connected to the outside world, the WRT54G in 'client' mode. Some fiddling and it worked perfectly.

Can anyone offer advice on how I should configure these two so that they are in the reverse position. I want the WRT54G to have the modem connection so that my WL500G can have its USB port available for a printer which is elsewhere in the house. But the settings are giving me difficulty - can they even work in this configuration. I see several threads describing the setup I had before, but can't find one documenting them set up this way around.

    Help appreciated.
