HP LaserJet 1000 not working on lan with all client winxp pro: sort of solution

Hello

I have a problem with my WL-500gp router. It can't recognize my HP LaserJet 1000, altough I saw this device as WORKING in the compatibility list.

Tested: WORKING
Model: WL-500gP
Firmware: 1.9.7.5 by ASUS

Device:
Brandname: HP (Hewlett Packard)
Brandtype: HP Laser Jet 1000 (usb)
URL To manufacturer: http://www.hp.com

I've tried everything but still can't get it working, please help me.
I'm using STANDARD ASUS FIRMWARE 1.9.7.5

I have been searching the forum and the net for the solution but found nothing so far.

I have 3 pc with all winxp pro and i can't use my hp if it's connected on ASUS, while it works fine on winxp pro

I am working with WINXP PRO.

I DON'T USE Oleg's firmware, i don't know much of linux.

If you find the way to make it works with linux i could try, but i dont know to a lot about linux, i prefer stay with the original firmaware of asus.

The guys that have HPlaserjet 1000, manage to working the hp on asus with xp?

I see that many use oleg firmware but if i want to use normal firmware, is it impossible to print with hp laserjet 1000?

Original firmware not working with HPLJ1000. Printer is GDI and must load firmware image in printer. Try Openwrt or Oleg firmware this is OK. http://foosel.org/linux/openwrt#hp_laserjet_1000

Thanks, install Openwrt and finally my hp laserjey 1000 works on linux box ubuntu and fedora but with windows xp no, fu..

i really don't understand i configure exatly how the how to say and how oleg explain but nothing on windows.

All right, i get my aim, i use cups ipkg, and my printer works well.
This is a good experience to learn linux too, now i think to learn slackware.

Nope(( same problem here. My printer is laserjet m1005, i can print only one page, after that is no way how to print something else, only uninstal printer and do it again

i use cups and it works well, i try all other method but always some problem.

try with cups, and read the link in post, im a beginner of linux ask at expert.
