I guess you mean 475 KiloByte/second over 11 Mega bit/second wireless connection and 1.1 MegaByte/second over wired connection. Thanks for the info.Originally Posted by gerardwr

Please find below my experience.
Using the program Filesync (www.fileware.com) to synchronise the 2.5"disk in my WL-HDD with the IDE connected 3.5"disk in my Athlon 3200+ desktop, Filesync reports the following:
- with an 11Mbs wireless connection : appr. 475MBs
- with an 100Mbs wired connection : appr. 1.1MBs
When connecting my desktop to an external USB2.0 2.5" disk Filesync reports appr. 5MBs.

It's terrible. JockyW also reported something like this.Originally Posted by Styno
Hi,
..with the new firmware 1.1.2.8 I get a nearly constant r/w speed from the Windows Desktop ~1,6MB with the wired Network....not that much, but enough to stream. I think there is something fixed with the Samba-Server...give it a try!

Hi petgun,Originally Posted by petgun
could you pls. post some more details about your setup?
I.e. mount command/options, config of the wl-hdd, image on the dbox, etc.
I just put 1.1.2.8 on my wl-hdd but as soon as I want to write somthing onto the hdd (i.e. cat > /mnt/movie/test) I'll get '-sh: cannot create /mnt/movie/test: Permission denied'.
The funny thing is that dbox->'win2k'-pc works as well as 'linux'-pc->wl-hdd.
I just can't find why the box won't play with my wl-hdd.
Cheers,
pepe

hi,
I get the same message if I try to write/read to the WL-HDD Share. From the Box I can mount the share, show the directory even delete a file, but no r/w operations. Please go to the Tuxbox-Forum and search for 'WL-HDD' and 'permission' and give a comment...maybe we'll get an answer. With WindowsXP everything works fine.
