Connect a terminal to the rs232 port and post the output here.
do you save nvram after the change??
Perhaps upgrade your firmware?
http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=4145&page=16
have you made it executable? (chmod +x)
It _Is_ fun to upgrade :) But you can get a USB-hub with its own power supply too...
this is sort of a howto... http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=4609
you can run more things without swap...
As for the sdram_init settings you can refer to this page: http://wl500g.dyndns.org/sdram.html
For the Gx the schematic is in the CE&FCC reports. I don't know if those reports are available for the 500g.
On the Gx the extra line has to be connected by two jumpers(one to each chip).
Thanks for the tutorial, works fine.
Only problem I had was with the graph creation, since I currently don't have a wireless client the data is 0 and this apparently caused the generation to hang.
Possibly, if you can connect the extra line for addressing (A8). If you can get the schematic and/or trace the signal you can do abetter assesment..
On the GX it is possible.
I think this was an issue with early models, later ones comes with 32MB enabled from start.
It is possible to upgrade to (atleast) 64MB.... but it takes some soldering.
It should be enabled. What does 'free' show?
You can simply enable it from the web interface. It is the same procedure as in the standard firmware.
Do you have your work directory and configuration file set up properly?
ftp is a easy choice.
the package to install is "coreutils"
I have the su command, but not sure of the package.....
try "sudo"
Probably, look at the specs.
+ I would have a hard time finding anything else around here... I don't think they make the 500g or deluxe anymore...
Great work!
Cant wait to try it out!
Have you looked at the premium?
Use the search button in the forum and search for spindown, not spin down
BTW: I get about 320000 results using spin down hdd on google...
do a search for spindown, it is very depandant on make and model of HDD and enclosure.. do yourself a favour and buy one with automatic spindown......
look at the cron tutorial at macsat's site
