Assuming you pay for the software:rolleyes:
Don't think many people on this forum purchase software.....I wonder why(torrents).lol
I have nothing against linux dude, If you like it rock on.
I see...
That's one of the reasons why I got the wl-700GE:p
Low Power consumption/running torrents sounded bad ass at first, but i fails at torrent part:(
Yes a mini-PC will consume more power no doubt...
A nice piece of information would be to post a big sign on the box saying "Linux is running on this product, if you don't have knowledge using this OS avoid this product because we will not help you"...
Make it happen and I'll pay, many others will too;) better hurry cause I'm trying to sell the router.
Someone else came with the idea to pay a programmer to build a custom firmware that can be...
Look at the other threads on this forum, we actually offer money to K.C. to build a firmware for noobs, I'm sure if he does this and sets a charging fee of $10 per person at least least 5000 people...
Correction, I upgraded my media center pc, I already had the mobo and an old 80GB drive:D
It would cost asus 3-4x more? the price for this router is already $200-300 at 3x-4x more that's a $1000 but lets say $700 more then enough to buy a computer to run Windows Vista, I got my media...
never really tried the Itunes stuff.
I share music/movies/folders across my network the old fashion way by giving access to my harddrive to all my other computers on the network(WEP 64bit protected...
Thanks that would be great since we have no idea what this new version does, yes I know the improve Itunes bs, I wonder how many people actually use that feature.
If your making another costume...
Ok so why give access to telnet then?
This firmware is useless, they did not improve anything:mad:
I'm just wondering, if you have access to telnet with this firmware do you still need a custom firmware?
Can't you just upload the source code to add other features?
I want thank "backtobasic" "Gratitude182" and "tiwag" for helping my router come back to life:D
It was actually a combination of different things that made it work, first the IP 192.168.1.2 does...
I'm with you mate
I manage to set up a static IP by calling my ISP but I can't access the router, I still get the error "unable to find server"
I tried everything but nothing works, I have no choice but to send it...
This actually got the firmware started but half way it stop's and I still get the error unable to find server:mad:
When I set up a static IP I can't access the internet anymore but if I leave it...
I tried to upgrade to the new friwamre 1.0.7.8 using the Web interface like I did with 1.0.4.6 but nothing happen, 60 min later still nothing....so I shut down the router, when I power back on I...
Sorry for making a useless thread but I'm getting reallyy pissed off:mad:
It's been 14-16 months since the last firmware for this router with a price tag of $240 and up, that's a lot of money to...
I have lan connection, I will try and see if it's possible to reboot the router using the 1.0.4.6 firmware
Ok so I uploaded this firmware and everything was fine with the exception that I couldn't log online, it said something about DHCP.
I tried reseting the router in hopes that it will fix the problem...
Is this firmware better then 1.0.4.6? any new features? any reasons to install it?
^Agree
Kfurge is awesome with the custom firmware but I don't have a clue on how to use linux/text commands, a big help to all WL-700GE users is a custom firmware that can be upgraded like 1.0.4.6...
I had the same problem and after a few reboots it started working, if that doesn't work unplug the router for 5 seconds.
asteapta un firmware mai nou; some people manage to brick their router.
If you read the other threads on this forum including the one that stands out the most "custom Firmware 1.0.4.6" you will see that it is possible to modify a firmware.
Most people on this forum want...
Thanks for the help, you should go work for Asus or microsoft, non of them where able to help.
