Nice, also works under OpenWRT Build 7717 :-)
The only thing I don't know yet is how to make a .ipk from the compiled src.
It definitly is :-)

I'm running the latest build 7660 with X-Wrt for Kamikaze.
X-Wrt is usable but not finished yet.
The rest is highly flexible but...
WebIf^2 also "works" on kamikaze after you compile the haserl package and ifpkg install it after linking to your compiled packages folder.
But it's still extremly broken. Almost none of the...
oh I've forgotten a step :(
mkdir -p /opt/etc
echo "src optware http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/ddwrt/cross/stable" > /opt/etc/ipkg.conf
echo "lists_dir ext /opt/var/lib/ipkg" >>...
#After following the great work of MoD do the following:
mkdir -p /opt/etc
echo "src optware http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/ddwrt/cross/stable" > /opt/etc/ipkg.conf
echo "lists_dir...
Im also trying to setup dns/network bridging... so more on that later.
Just wanted to note that tutorials for white russian may be totally useless for the heavily reworked devel version: kamikaze.
Some of the questions could be easily answered by looking at the documents section on http://www.openwrt.org
I can't recommend using it with less unix-administration experience until the x-wrt...
Small hint, on the openWRT project page, there's a tut: mounting a usb-stick as root filesystem.
This also works with the hdd (dev/discs/disc0/disc and part1).
I do have exactly the same behavior with the asus build-in mt-daapd.
One solution (very advanced) is to use kfurges firmware (head do firmware discussion) and follow his great tutorial adding ipkg...
Damn I've written so much and than got logged out ;(
Short: compile vi in busybox - telnet in - vi /shares/MYVOLUME1/__pdc - add encrypted password to root - compile login with busybox
That's...
Where do I have to edit the init files. In 1.0.4.2 there was a file service.ex in rc.asus but with 1.0.4.6 its gone. thx for that info. (the actual entry would also be nice ;) )
I have to test top...
You're absolutly right ;(
They changed a lot (about 200 MB).
Wasn't able to autostart telnet yet.
Feel being confirmed :P
It's just for a complete download archive I think.
1.0.4.1 GPL + Toolchain 600MB - Firmware has 18 MB
1.0.4.2 GPL + Toolchain 600MB - Firmware has 18 MB
Newest Firmware:
1.0.4.6 GPL +...
The following is a little bit complicated:
First you have to compile an editor within your firmware to set /shares/MYVOLUME1/__pdc/passwd with a password and a link to a shell.
After that you...
My progress so far:
- updated hdparm 5.5 to 6.6
- some small changes on the kernel (deactivated unnecessary options)
- compiled dropbear ssh-server for mipsel
- got twonkyvision 3.1 to work on...
It's only a short tut on how to compile your own firmware from the 1.0.4.6 GPL-sources.
It's based on a clean Fedora Core 5 install:
1. Download/Install ash as rpm. (the one for FC 3 does the...
There isn't much with debugging. You have to compile the latest mt-daapd sources on you linux box for mips32. I failes to do so the last month, maybe now i'm luckier^^
But here Itunes 6+7 work...
Telnet still works the same way in 1.0.4.6
I've used the index.cgi added /bin/utelnetd & and it works. (Via ftp under Linux) So maybe I had luck with the uid.
The sources seem to be very very unstable. By only activating vi in busybox for example they still compile successfully but the device won't boot up anymore.
My Progress so far:
1.0.4.6 GPL -...
I've just compiled the new 1.0.4.6 GPL sources and replaced the old busybox with the latest one. No problems so far...
Updated from 1.0.4.2 to 1.0.4.6 via Webinterface without any problem.
Due to it's possible to compile your own firmware you could get almost every app running which you can build out of its sources for MIPS architecture.
So generally yes it has much potential but...
Sehr seltsam. Ich finde den auch nicht mehr dort o_O
Hab den aber dort definitiv gekauft, also vielleicht einfach mal anrufen?
Hat 274€ mit Versand gekostet.
