Please see post http://wl500g.info/showpost.php?p=114103&postcount=2 for compiled version of the igmprpxy and udpxy. However no luck with getting them work on my WL700.
Update: Finally got some spare time and got udpxy and igmpproxy compiled.
Both seem to be running, except that I just can not make them work.
I get either resource not available or protocol...
Hello,
has anybody successfully tried udpxy for RDP/multicast to http/streaming?
Unfortunately I am not even able to compile :-( getting segmentation fault or permission denied when compiling....
Some time ago when I used to test if the spindown works I have had this in my crontab :
/opt/sbin/hdparm -C /dev/ide/host2/bus0/target0/lun0/disc | grep "drive state" | /opt/bin/logger
...
Sorry for off-topic, but I could not resist :-)
Any chance you will enable multicast support in the "basic" image?
I am extremely satisfied with my (your :-) + several thinks like syslog-ng,...
Thanks a lot!
I did not think of the the original df (/bin/df), which works fine, so I can check the space on the HDD which was the original intent.
[root@(none) /opt/bin]$ ls -la *df...
Hello,
recently I have found that df is not working well as it can not find /etc/mtab
When I try to specify the volume it says that it can not find the mountpoint
Unfortunately /proc/mounts...
Thank you very much in advance.
Thanks - at least I know that "playing" will not help and if I want to make it work I have either to:
- start with openwrt
- build new kernel
which is both more time consuming than I can invest...
Perhaps question to different forum, but also a wish related to the new firmware image.
Does the current FW kernel have multicast support enabled?
Would it be possible to include it in the next...
Hello networking gurus,
after some playing and reading stuff on TCP/UDP/IGMP/IPtables with no success - I am asking for an expert advice:
My ISP provides free IPTV service. However as they are...
Thanks a lot!
I was confused by the result of hdparm -I ... and -C which just says suspend :-(
I think that local prot should be 22 as well. Port range specifies the range of port on external (WAN) interface that are forwardded to local ip and local port. Therefore both ports shoudl be 22. The...
Strange things happen - if I set it the way you describe, the hdd goes standby in few minutes (i hear the sound of going standby and hdparm -C /dev/... says suspend) and i hear the same when I wake...
Some settings are defaulted in web-gui, others you should be able to modify over the iptables
iptables --list
iptables -d nat --list
See documentation...
K.C.,
is there a special reason to have it in nat table in addition to input?
Thanks & Rgds
You can open port 22 in Asus WEB-GUI - this is probably the easiest way that will also work after you restard the router.
- or your can open it manually by e.g.
iptables -I INPUT 7 -p tcp ...
I'm not downloading that much to check - but I suspect that utorrent DHT feature makes the difference (it sees much bigger number of peers). As my line speed is 10Mbit symmetrical it can boost the DL...
Several threads discussing this topic - with similar/same questions.
Perhaps we could go on with the firewall setup in http://wl700g.info/showthread.php?t=7749
rc.local will work, but
- any change in router's confiiguration over the web UI will make it reset the network configuration not taking care of the any further settings irregardless ehre they are...
You can set them and some other things .profile in your home directory
Isn't it better to OPEN the ports to your WAN address than to forward them to the LAN?
see my other post in iptables topic, but generally
iptables -I INPUT 7 -p tcp --dport 2700:2710 -j ACCEPT ...
Hello,
unfortunately I do not have much time to play with the device :-(. As I am also a self-learner in the area of linux, scripting, routing, etc. I no not have the patterns to do this right -...
I was playing with the iptables setup in order to open the ssh port to outside world and could not get out, how to make sure that the firewall web-gui does not interfere with my settings.
Have any...
